We are pleased to announce that Sandankyo Hotel will reopen as Sandankyo Hotel Nampo on Tuesday, December 15, 2026, following a complete renovation.
The hotel has been closed for an extended period during the renovation, and we would like to sincerely thank everyone for their patience, support, and warm encouragement.
A New Chapter, Inspired by the History of Sandankyo
Our new name, Sandankyo Hotel Nampo, honors Kuma Nampo, a photographer who was deeply inspired by the natural beauty of Sandankyo Gorge and helped introduce its beauty to a wider audience.
While preserving the spirit and memories of the original hotel, we have created a more comfortable space where traditional Japanese style and modern comfort come together.
We look forward to welcoming guests from Japan and around the world and sharing the beauty of Sandankyo through warm Japanese hospitality.
